The fuel filler is locked/unlocked with the door locks. There is an emergency release in the trunk.
SPEAKING OF THE TRUNK, there is an emergency release inside the car behind a panel like so, in case the battery goes dead:
Convertible top opening/closing drops the windows and LEAVES THEM THERE.
*But necessary to teach dealer employees for when customers ask the most benign of questions that only Jalops will care about anyways

This would honestly annoy the hell out of me since I lock my car before putting gas in.
Don’t know why...just OCD I guess

Was just about to comment about having this on a ‘95 740iL and having that remote unlocking gas door be sooooo much better than a silly push-lever thing in the cabin.

It’s called “fillin’ up in da ‘hood”

So, that means it’s inadvisable to leave valuable items locked in the trunk, since manual trunk access is ‘easily’ reachable by those with knowledge of the mechanism?

Its not easy.... interior panels must be removed.

I was gonna say something but then got distracted by what sounds like not too distant gunshots.

I guess that's an improvement over it being in the small box between the seat backs.

A lot of companies do this now, notably the Germans and I believe Nissan/Infiniti. Especially with the rise in capless filler necks, it’s useful to minimize fuel theft risks. I hope Ford follows suit (if they haven’t, newest I’ve driven is a 2015 F-150 but didn’t fuel it). Pop the filler door, lock car I guess? Only a couple feet of walking.

That’s the glove box now and its LOCKABLE.
